When women and their children leave the refuge, this can be a scary and vulnerable time for them.
In order to help them along the way, we provide a Floating Support service which offers practical help with all of the arrangements needed when moving, plus support with emotional issues.
Not all women affected by Domestic Violence want to move out of their homes and into a women's refuge.
Indeed, sometimes women need support and information whilst continuing to live within the violent relationship.
Our Outreach Service provides support, information and an access point for those women.
In an effort to raise awareness of the far reaching, long lasting effects of Domestic Violence, Braintree Women's Aid works in partnership with Health and Essex Police to provide training and insight on the issues facing women and their children living with, or fleeing Domestic Violence.
Our aim is to ensure all frontline staff from community based agencies are able to deal in an enlightened, knowledgeable and empathetic manner with women needing their help and assistance.
