We have dedicated this page as a guide to the various ways you can clear your internet activity, keeping you safe online.
Email
Your abuser may be able to access your email account and read both incoming and outgoing mail. Try to choose a password that an abuser will not be
able to guess, preferably containing numbers as well as letters and containing upper or lower case.
If you are receiving threatening and abusive email, then try the following to keep as evidence:
- Print the message
- Save the message both onto your computer and on a separate disk
- If you are unsure of your safety, send the message to someone you trust, either by sending them a copy (cc) or sending the email as an attachment.
- Do not delete the email
